The FAMU Day of Service will commemorate the life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by engaging alumni, faculty, students and friends in a “day on” instead of a “day off.” The first ever FAMU Day of Service will be held on January 15, 2016, with additional participation days on January 16-18. The goal is to bring the FAMU family together to serve their local communities. The Day of Service also will serve as a catalyst for ongoing service by the University and alumni chapters.
The FAMU Day of Service is a way for alumni and friends to connect with each other and their communities through service. It also will provide a singular opportunity for participants to engage in an historic day for FAMU as we collectively embody FAMU’s great tradition of service to others.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the FAMU Day of Service. The Day of Service is a wonderful activity for families and we are happy to have members of the extended FAMU community join us as well.

Your Site Coordinator should provide information related to weather challenges for the Day of Service activities. They also will provide a contact number to call for any questions you may have about the Day of Service.
